Project KIDS


Project KIDS was organized to help teach children the value of being kind & generous! Our goal is to provide to needy families as well as show them the love of God! We intend to be the light that sits on a hill that cannot be hid & in doing so, hope to reach out to as many people as possible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Our current project is to support the Battered Women's Shelter! The shelter is in desperate need of funds, personal care items, plastic utensils, toilet paper, fans, etc. Without proper funding, the women & children who seek refuge in the shelter will go without the things they need to function on a daily basis. With only 21 rooms containing 60 beds & a 45 day maximum stay, these women & children are severely limited time & resources to try to get their lives in some kind of order, to find some sense of normality. We CAN help them!

A Strong Foundation!

2 Timothy 2:15, 19 ~ 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

We have to present our bodies as vessels of honor before God! Be diligent! be mindful! Build a foundation in the Word which leads to faith in God! We must have a true foundation, rooted in the Word so we can stand in the times of trouble! You must depart from sin to have a relationship with, and thus build a foundation strong in the things of God. If you are in sin, how can you have a relationship with Him? Get enough Word while you can so in case there comes a time when you are unable to pick up your bible & read/study, the scriptures you know can be applied to your life's situation. If you don't KNOW the Word, it does you no good!

1 Corinthians 3 ~ 1 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?  5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.

God has given us POWER!!

Acts 1:8; 4:23; 17:28 ~ “...But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

2 Peter 1:3 ~ His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Ephesians 1:19; 5:1 ~ ...and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength... Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children...

Praise the Lord!
  • Psalm 34 ~ I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.  4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

    Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.


    The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.


    The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.


    The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.


    Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
  • Psalm 100 ~ Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations
  • Psalm 103:1-5 ~ Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

  • John 16:1-16 ~ “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you, but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” Jesus went on to say, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
    • John the Baptist had a personal experience with God, being told to expect the "One" when you baptize Him & the spirit of God descends on HIM like a dove. yet when he went to prison, he questioned if Jesus was really the Messiah. Jesus tells us everything so we don't go astray. Jesus warnes us so when trouble comes, we won't question Him or our faith (Be like David & bless the Lord at ALL times). The servant is not greater than the master; Jesus went through trials, tribuationals, persecution & hard times; so will we. We should rejoice in times of struggles & that our names are written in the Lamb's book of Life.
  • Romans 3:22 ~ This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile...

Taking God for granted leads to sin & backsliding!

  • Hebrews 2:1-3 ~ We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 
    • If we do not hold on to the things we've heard, we will end up going back into the world. Take heed to the things/Word of God to avoid backsliding! Be prepared with the full armor of God We are without excuse; God has given us everything we need to be able to stay saved! Salvation is great & neglecting it is a choice, not an option because God gives us the tools to succeed as a Christian. Sin & failure in the Gospel is a choice we make but definitely not what God desires for & demands from us. Take heed that you stand!

Have the love of God, do not judge, renew your heart!
  • Romans 10:9-10 ~ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
    • Anyone can repent & confess so how can we judge who is or isn't saved. Just like God works it out in us, he does the same for others! Be patient & love one another. If we show love towards people, God will complete a good work in them. Don't be hypocritical, turning your nose up at people; we want love & the truth so we must give it. Pray for one another; don't talk others down. Remember, in your most righteous state, you are still filthy.
  • Philippians 1:1-2; 3:12-21 ~ Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

    Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Knowledge of God

We are the brightness of His glory!

  • Hebrews 1:1-14 ~ In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

    For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father”? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”? And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”
    In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.” But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

    He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

    To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”? Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

  • Matthew 6:33; 10:16, 25 ~ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

    I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

    It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household.
    • We must be steadfast for God like the woman who kept seeking help from the judge & the woman with the issue of blood! Be fearless, with the tenacity of wolves. If they talked about Jesus & called Him evil, they will do it to you! If you compromise, you'll lose! Don't be afraid of them, stand up for who you are! Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus with boldness. Power is in the Word!

    Bondage & Strongholds 
    • Romans 8:15, 21 ~ The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” ...the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
    • Galatians 4:3, 9; 5:1 ~ So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Faith - Hope & Evidence... Where's yours!

Recently it seems as though talk of miracles, faith & belief has been weighing heavy on the minds of saints. So many people are in need of blessings - spiritually, physically, financially. Loved ones need to be saved & delivered, people's homes need to be saved, they need food to eat & healing in their bodies. We've been coming together in prayer for miracles for all of the above as well as many, many other things and one thing that our pastor has tried to instill in us through the Word is the necessity of faith & our belief in what God can & will do in, through and for His people.

Before we get into what you need to do to get your prayers answered, we need to establish a basis for having faith. You need to understand #1 who God is & #2 what faith is & how to obtain more of it before you can get to #3 how to stand on faith & encourage yourself when you have nothing else!

#1 Who is God & what does knowing Him have to do with your faith?

  1. Numbers 23:19 ~ God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

    • This scripture tells us that God is not like a human being - not like us... He CANNOT lie! His very nature, holy, pure & true, does not allow Him to lie.
     
  2. 2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

    • These scriptures assure us that we can hold fast to EVERY word that God speaks into our spirits & every word in the scriptures. Also, through His Word, God has given us everything we need to do His will & accomplish goals in our lives!
  3. Ephesians 3:20 ~ Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.

    • This is a powerful scripture because it tells us that God do more than we can possibly imagine! Think of something you feel might be impossible to accomplish... go ahead - think hard :-) ok, well whatever you just thought of, God can do exceedingly abundantly MORE than that!

July 7, 2011 ~ Bible Study with Sis. Doris Allen

1.  Lamentations 3:40 ~ Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD.2 Corinthians 13:5 ~ Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

Psalm 26:2 ~ Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind.

  • We must examine ourselves to make sure we are in right standing with God. Examining ourselves means searching the Word & seeking God to ensure that our walk is in line with His will. When we examine ourselves & follow after God & His way of doing things, we become His sons & daughters & we reap the benefits of being His children!
2.  1 Corinthians 11:25-28 ~ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
  • Even when receiving the Lord's Supper, we must examine ourselves. If we drink & eat unworthily, we bring upon ourselves God's wrath. If we don't participate because we are in sin, we are still wrong & are subject to chastening by God.

1.  Ephesians 4:11-16 ~ So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

2.  1 Corinthians 14:20 ~ Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.

When we allow God to perfect us, we can have faith, stand on the Word & believe in God's deliverance. We can stop thinking as infants when it comes to the things of God & grow up, maturing in the Word!

3.  James 1:5-8 ~ If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

 
1 Kings 3:5-14 ~ At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” Solomon answered, “You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day. “Now, LORD my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.”

With perfection comes wisdom... whatever we lack, including wisdom, we are mature enough to know that we can ask God for whatever we need. We must have unwavering faith, without doubt.

1.  1 Peter 2:4-12 ~ As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and, “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Living Godly Lives in a Pagan Society. Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
  • We need to be spiritual sacrifices - like Christ when He prepared to go to the cross for us: "not My will, but Your will be done. We must deny the flesh & follow Christ, worshiping God in spirit & in truth so that we may be called righteous; for when we cry & the Lord will hears!
2.  2 Corinthians 5:17-21, 6:14-18 ~ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate", says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
  • Christ will get rid of the old so we can become new! We can then submit & obey God, becoming & offering sacrifices to Him that are pleasing & acceptable. If God sacrificed His son & the Son sacrificed Himself for us (remembering He did NOTHING wrong to deserve the punishment He endured), we should be overjoyed to offer sacrifices to & become sacrifices for the Kingdom of God.

1.  Numbers 13:1-3 ~ The LORD said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders." So at the LORD’s command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites.
  • Leaders cannot be without faith for without faith, it is impossible to please God.
2.  Numbers 13:17-25 ~ When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, “Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country. See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many. What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified? How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees in it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land.” (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.) So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath. They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) When they reached the Valley of Eshkol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs. That place was called the Valley of Eshkol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there. At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.

  • God will give specific instructions if we yield to His Spirit - don't let yourself stray or wander; stay focused. God sees us through the blood of Jesus who makes intercession for us. Thus grace & mercy abounds. Therefore, we as Christians who mess up & repent can move on & sin no more AND do the will of the Father!
