God has given us POWER!!

Acts 1:8; 4:23; 17:28 ~ “...But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

2 Peter 1:3 ~ His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Ephesians 1:19; 5:1 ~ ...and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength... Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children...

Praise the Lord!
  • Psalm 34 ~ I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.  4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. The LORD will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.
  • Psalm 100 ~ Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.  4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations
  • Psalm 103:1-5 ~ Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

  • John 16:1-16 ~ “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you, but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” Jesus went on to say, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”
    • John the Baptist had a personal experience with God, being told to expect the "One" when you baptize Him & the spirit of God descends on HIM like a dove. yet when he went to prison, he questioned if Jesus was really the Messiah. Jesus tells us everything so we don't go astray. Jesus warnes us so when trouble comes, we won't question Him or our faith (Be like David & bless the Lord at ALL times). The servant is not greater than the master; Jesus went through trials, tribuationals, persecution & hard times; so will we. We should rejoice in times of struggles & that our names are written in the Lamb's book of Life.
  • Romans 3:22 ~ This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile...

Taking God for granted leads to sin & backsliding!

  • Hebrews 2:1-3 ~ We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
    • If we do not hold on to the things we've heard, we will end up going back into the world. Take heed to the things/Word of God to avoid backsliding! Be prepared with the full armor of God We are without excuse; God has given us everything we need to be able to stay saved! Salvation is great & neglecting it is a choice, not an option because God gives us the tools to succeed as a Christian. Sin & failure in the Gospel is a choice we make but definitely not what God desires for & demands from us. Take heed that you stand!

Have the love of God, do not judge, renew your heart!
  • Romans 10:9-10 ~ If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
    • Anyone can repent & confess so how can we judge who is or isn't saved. Just like God works it out in us, he does the same for others! Be patient & love one another. If we show love towards people, God will complete a good work in them. Don't be hypocritical, turning your nose up at people; we want love & the truth so we must give it. Pray for one another; don't talk others down. Remember, in your most righteous state, you are still filthy.
  • Philippians 1:1-2; 3:12-21 ~ Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Knowledge of God

We are the brightness of His glory!

  • Hebrews 1:1-14 ~ In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father”? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”? And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”
In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.” But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

To which of the angels did God ever say, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”? Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

"We are in the battle for our lives", says the Lord!
  • Matthew 6:33; 10:16, 25 ~ But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household.
    • We must be steadfast for God like the woman who kept seeking help from the judge & the woman with the issue of blood! Be fearless, with the tenacity of wolves. If they talked about Jesus & called Him evil, they will do it to you! If you compromise, you'll lose! Don't be afraid of them, stand up for who you are! Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus with boldness. Power is in the Word!

Revival ~ Summer 2011

Zion Field Evangelistic Ministries Revival ~ Summer 2011
  • Monday, 8/22/11 ~ Sis. Doris Allen
    Bondage & Strongholds
    • Romans 8:15, 21 ~ The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” ...the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
    • Galatians 4:3, 9; 5:1 ~ So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
