If you love Me...

Everyone, at some point or another, has heard the scripture that says "it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 19:24). I'm sure everyone knows something about 1 Timothy 6:10, but the way it's quoted couldn't be further from the truth! The scripture actually says "the love of money is the root of all evil", not "money is the root of all evil". How can money be evil? It has no soul, no spirit, no conscious! People use money for evil purposes; they attempt to gain money for the wrong reasons, but money itself is NOT evil!

Many people try hard to gain money thinking it will solve their problems, only to find that in their pursuit of wealth, their problems have surmounted. The bible says in James 4:2-3 that we kill for what is not ours and are envious of others because of things. If we don't ask God, we won't get it and when we do ask God, we ask with wrong intentions so we still don't get it! But if we would only set our minds on things above, that is to say the things of God, and not the things of this world (Colossians 3:2), things that can be lost, destroyed, stolen, then we'll have treasures stored up in heaven (Matthew 6:19-20)! Don't you know that whatever we concentrate on most, that is the thing that becomes most important to us. That is the thing that becomes a part of our being & takes over our lives! Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21)!

God is the only one that can give us perfect gifts (James 1:17)! The first perfect gift we received was Jesus Christ; through his death and resurrection we received salvation! This is an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade away (1 Peter 1:4)! This is what we should strive for! This is what we should live for! Allow God to come into your life and heart so that He can show you what He desires for you! When we make God and His business our priority, He will give us the desires of our hearts and our plans will succeed (Psalm 20:4 & 37:4)! God can give us exceedingly abundantly above anything we can ever dream of (Ephesians 3:20) so don't be like the rich young ruler who went away sad when Jesus told him that in order to inherit eternal life that he must sell everything he had and give to the poor. In Christ he would have had more than he possessed at that moment. Possessions mean nothing unless you have the hope of Christ! You can be the richest person in the world, able to buy anything you want and have anything you desire, but if your eternal home will not be heaven, why bother (Mark 8:36)? The bible calls everything else meaningless (Ecclesiastes 1)! If you are in pursuit of meaningless possessions, worthless treasures, selfish gain, you are also in pursuit of eternal damnation! But you can change that... right now. God says if you love Him, do what He says (John 14:15) & if you , Ask God to forgive you of your sins, to come into your heart & your life & give you His wisdom. Read over Romans 10:9-10 and begin to embark on your new journey, as a child of God! Be blessed!
