Get away from what you're used to...

Many times we encounter situations that we feel are hard. Hard times may come because God is trying to get us to a new elevation in faith. They may also come when we've done something to bring them on. Either way, our fault or not, God has given us the tools we need to succeed!

There's this placed called comfort that we all know about. It's that place we dwell in because it's "safe". There's no trouble there because we are used to the things that happen there. We don't have to think too hard or do too much because everything is laid out. There's a routine & nothing changes. Dwell means to live or exist or at least to remain for a time so when you dwell in your comfort zone, you also deny yourself the opportunity to trust God. You, in essence, limit God's ability. Now don't be confused in thinking that you can stop God from being who He is, BUT you can shut Him out of your life by having no trust in Him.

Ever had so many bills that you couldn't see straight?!? You know, so many bills that you're afraid to go to the mailbox or pick up your phone! You try to save by cutting back & not spending so much but it seems that things just keep piling up! Then you think: "well, no bill collector will come if I miss giving tithes this week, so I'll do it next week". Next week comes & you don't give again... before you know it, it's been weeks or months, but guess what? You are still behind on your bills AND your pockets seem to have holes because you can't even see where your money is going. What you've done is begun to operate in fear. Your fear is causing you to be disobedient to God & His Word (Malachi 3:8-12).

Whether complacency or fear is the problem, we have to be broken of our habits - whether those habits are bad or just old! When you are broken, you are a
ltered by breaking your routine... you have undergone or been disrupted by a change. Only when this "change" occurs, can God use us & come COMPLETELY into our hearts! God desires a broken spirit & contrite heart - a heart that is truly repentant & sorrowful (Psalm 51:17, 2 Corinthians 7:10). This is how we are able to worship God in spirit & in truth (John 4:23)! Remove yourself out of the way, learn to trust God, give Him free reign in your life, allow Him to show you His way & in His time, all these things that you are going through will seem like a thing of the distant past!
